Science of the Week: 2/2/18

As a Midwesterner, I know Groundhog Day doesn't matter; we're getting at least six more weeks of winter no matter what.

Here are some of the most important science news articles I read this week:

If you swat mosquitoes, they may learn to avoid your scent
(Though they probably don't learn much if you kill them)

Factories get more business when they treat workers right

Do our mitochondria run at 50ÂșC?

Researchers pose revolutionary theory on horse evolution

Higher education must change to prepare Americans for artificial intelligence revolution

Study: geoengineering the climate could imperil most animal groups

Engineers 3-D print shape-shifting gel

Gene therapy could provide long-term protection against HIV

Have a good weekend, everyone, and see you Monday!
