Read Tuesday

I'm not into Black Friday shopping, but I do love shopping for books. Here's an event that's up any reader's alley: Read Tuesday. If you're not familiar with it, it's a day designated for giving the gift of reading. Lots of books, both paper and digital, will be on sale Tuesday, December 9. I plan to participate, and one of the ways I'm doing so is by making all of my Matchbook deals free. From now through the end of the year, you can buy a paper copy of Lyon's Legacy, Twinned Universes, Life at Seventeen Syllables a Day, or Seasons' Beginnings on Amazon and get the eBook free. There will be some other deals going on around that time as well.

Writing/Publishing Updates

It's been a while since I said anything about my writing projects, but I finally have some news. I finally finished the second draft of Season's Beginnings, the prequel and first book of my fantasy Season Avatars series. I'll let it rest for a couple of weeks before re-reading it. Hopefully there won't be too many changes before I feel it's ready for beta readers. Please let me know if you'd be interested.

My second announcement has to do with distribution. My haiku collection, Life at Seventeen Syllables a Day, is now available directly from Smashwords and should be coming soon to other retail stores. Additional links will be posted on my website when they're available.

WisCon Schedule and Amazon Sale!

Today I'll be headed to WisCon as I have almost every Memorial Day weekend since 1998. (The exception was 2007, when I was nine months pregnant and forbidden to travel. I had Alex just a couple of days after WisCon ended, so I guess it was a good thing.) Here's my schedule for the weekend:

What is Science in Feminist SF? Sat, 10:00--11:15 am

Broad Universe Reading, Sun, 2:30--3:45 pm

The SignOut, Mon, 11:30--12:45 pm

I also plan to be at the Broad Universe table, though I don't know when yet. If the Broads band together for a meal, I plan to join that too. That will also be scheduled at the convention.

In honor of WisCon, I've decided to hold a weekend sale on three of my eBooks. Lyon's Legacy will be $0.99, Twinned Universes will be $2.99, and Life at Seventeen Syllables a Day: A Journal in Haiku will be free! (The final deal doesn't start until Saturday, but the other two are already available.)  This sale will run through Monday, so pick up some reading for your holiday weekend. I'm not sure yet if there will be a BRoP interview Monday, but there will be a WisCon recap either Monday or Wednesday.
