Here's our question for April: When your writing life is a bit cloudy or filled with rain, what do you do to dig down and keep on writing?
I've been writing for over twenty years now, and yes, I've experienced plenty of clouds and rain in that time. Here are some of the things that have kept me going over the long hall:
- Belief in myself
- Passion for my stories and characters
- Support from my husband
- Support from other writers
- Confidence in what I've already accomplished
- Security in knowing I can publish anything I think is ready to find an audience
- Pure stubbornness/habit
- Maturity (or at least being a lot busier and having more responsibilities now than I did when I was younger)
What about you? What keeps you going when the writing isn't? Feel free to share in the comments.

That's a great list. I feel bad for those writers who don't have their spouse's approval.
Stubbornness has gotten me through many a maze. :)
Well probably not maturity, lol. Stubbornness is always good. Money is a good motivation too.
I listen to my inner child and take care of her. Once the Sponge Bob band-aid is on, I'm good to go.

I think the support from other writers is one of the most important. Writing may be a solitary business, but it works best with others.
Cheese. Cheese keeps me writing. ;) Truthfully, my readers are what keep me motivated.
Stubbornness yes, maturity, well, not always.
Thanks for your comments, everyone!
The support and encouragement of fellow writers means a lot to me. Support from friends, family, and so forth is important too, but sometimes you just need to hear it from someone who's been through the same kinds of struggles, if that makes sense.
Sounds like you've got a good thing going, Sandra! Confidence and support will take us through a lot of dry spells.
