Bright future for solar power in space

Evolution's gift may also be at the root of a form of autism

Statistical analysis projects future temperatures in North America

Nerve transfers restore hand function after cervical spinal cord injury

First gene therapy against aging effects

Monkeys doomed due to climate change?

Floating robots use GPS-enabled smartphones to monitor water

Scientists generate electricity from viruses

Enjoy your weekend! Cross your fingers that I get some revising done tomorrow!

About Me

My Photo
Sandra Almazan
Mild-mannered lab worker by day, loving wife and mom by night. Somewhere in there I write science fiction/fantasy and indie publish it. My short story, "A Reptile at the Reunion," was published in the Firestorm of Dragons anthology June 2008. My indie works include the SF Catalyst Chronicles series (currently available: Lyon's Legacy, "The Mommy Clone", and Twinned Universes) and several unrelated fantasy short stories. Lyon's Legacy and Twinned Universes are available in paper and eBook formats; my other short stories are all eBooks.

About This Blog

As a science fiction/fantasy author, I discuss topics such as science, writing science fiction/fantasy, self-publishing, books, and authors. On a personal note, I also blog about my family and the Beatles. I usually post three times a week. Recurring topics are are Blog Ring of Power interviews on Monday and Science of the Week on Fridays, though sometimes they are preempted. Every two weeks (first and third Tuesdays of the month, to be exact), I participate in a blog chain with other writers; the topic is usually something related to books or writing.

Although I'm not comfortable reviewing books, I am willing to host author interviews and participate in blog tours. Please e-mail me at sandraATsandraulbrichDOTcom.

Since I only have one "general topic" day in my blogging schedule, I'd appreciate not being tagged in blogging memes. I most likely won't participate. Thanks for understanding.
