Does it seem like May to you yet? It's hard to believe it's time once again for the Insecure Writer's Support Group. You can learn more about them on their website, Facebook page, or Twitter. The co-hosts for this month are JQ Rose, C. Lee McKenzie, Raimey Gallant, and E.M.A. Timar.
Here's our question for the month: It's spring! Does this season inspire you to write more than others, or not?
The short answer is no. As much as springtime is my favorite time of year, that doesn't mean I find it more inspiring than other seasons. If you're familiar with my Season Avatar series, you know I've written about all four seasons. Spring itself turns out to be a short, busy time of year for me. Usually the weather in my area doesn't get spring-like until late April, and by June it can feel more like summer. May is a busy month, since I typically have to prepare for both WisCon and my son's birthday at the end of the month. (This year I'm not attending WisCon for various reasons.) When the weather is nice, I like to walk outside instead of exercising on the treadmill, so I end up reading less. I try to write all year around, and stories can be set in any season.
Do you have a favorite writing season? If so, feel free to share what it is in the comments.

Usually our spring is really short (as in it goes from winter to summer within weeks.)
I usually write in every season.
I love writing in any season, but I hear you about busy seasons. I now have two kids with birthdays in March and September (both less than a week apart). Those are definitely crazy times.
Some seasons just lend themselves to writing more -- definitely not summer, as the heat can make things just stop working ;-)
Ronel visiting on Insecure Writer's Support Group day: Autumn Decisions
I like early fall, before the snow.
I think our spring is going to be especially short this year too, Alex.
Crystal, kid birthdays require more planning than my own.
Ronel, it can be hard to stay inside and write when you feel you should be outside enjoying the sun.
Pat, fall is a good time too. I guess I prefer to avoid extreme weather.
I do like writing during the Spring, because I can leave the windows open and enjoy the nice breeze while I work. I don't know if that really inspires me, or if I write more because of it. It's just pleasant.
I may be revising but I do tend to gaze out the window more in the spring. :-)

I love autumn, but I can write anytime. Well, when I actually have time.
Spring brings so much energy. Maybe it's the sun, which we don't see most of the winter. I love writing at this time of year.
