My Star Wars Haiku

This is my biggest beef with the Star Wars prequels, yes, even bigger than Jar-Jar:

They got Padme wrong;
Mothers endure all for kids
And live past heartbreak.

In case you're wondering why I wrote a Star Wars haiku, it's all Briane's fault. (I mean that in the best possible way, of course.) He's hosting a blogfest challenge to write haikus about Star Wars, and as soon as I read about it, the idea for the above haiku popped into my head. Unfortunately, I couldn't fit the Wookies into my seventeen syllables. If you'd like to write a haiku about Wookies or whatever Star Wars theme inspires you, you have until April 8 to submit yours. Full details are at the link above.

Love the Haiku! I haven't checked in as often as I used to but I appreciate you doing this. I'll post it on TBOE asap... I feel like there should be an additional acronym in there.

Also -- for bountying the Bulldog, you've got 500 points in the Blogathon, a nice grubstake to keep you going if you want to participate; but if you don't, you can gift your points away... on whatever terms you choose.

Great Haiku... And that's true. It makes me wonder what kind of mother she would have been if she was too caught up in her own issues to be bothered to live. Them babies needed a mother.

Briane--I might be willing to trade my points for a guest post or interview on someone's blog.

Rusty--Good point. Mothering means putting your kids' needs above your own. I wonder what she would have taught Luke and Leia about their father...

I love your haiku! I always thought she took the easy way out. I about threw popcorn at the screen when she died.

I have hardly any followers, but! I do have a pretty good reach for twitter, so if you did a guest post for me (in trade for your points - I'm so embarrassed asking) you could get some good exposure. My own twitter is about 600, but I have friends who have a lot more than that who usually support my blog. Or if you wanted to do an interview, I'd be all for that, too! Heck - if you'd like to guest post period, it would be fun... You wouldn't even have to give me points!
