Science of the Week, 5/16/14

Here are some of the most interesting science news stories I read this week:

Study confirms mitochondrial deficits in children with autism

1 in 5 people carries gene for better cognition

FDA approves first prosthetic arm that translates muscle signals to perform complex tasks

Most Europeans to be fatties by 2030

HADES searches for dark matter

Short men may live longer (so yes, short people do have a reason to live)

Cancer knocked out by measles vaccine

Why monstrously large insects and spiders don't exist

Have a good weekend, everyone, and I'll see you on Monday.
